Can an imam in Houston legally marry us?
Only if they are authorized to perform marriages in Texas. On ImamConnect, every profile clearly shows either "Registered officiant (legal + religious)" or "Religious ceremony only". Filter for registered officiants if you need the legal marriage as well.
Do we need a marriage license before the nikah?
If you want the marriage legally recognized in Texas, yes. You get the marriage license from the county or city clerk before the ceremony and give it to the officiant. The imam cannot issue the license for you. For a religious-only nikah, no license is required.
What languages can the nikah be conducted in Houston?
